In 1997, Matchbox Toys (then a division of Tyco Toys; Mattel bought Matchbox later that year) released this Limited Edition 1957 Chevy for Hot August Nights, an annual car show held in Reno, Nevada every year during the month of August.
Only 11,000 of the Matchbox 1997 First Edition Hot August Nights 1957 Chevy were made, and even fewer were signed by Arthur G. LeVesque, the owner of Flashback Toys in Reno, Nevada. Flashback Toys was the only place you could purchase Hot August Nights diecast cars when they were released. It’s likely they were commissioned by him as his name is printed on the back of the card along with a history of Hot August Nights.
This Matchbox 1997 First Edition Hot August Nights 1957 Chevy Signed by Arthur G. LeVesque is red with yellow flames, has rubber wheels with “Goodyear Eagle” tampo on each wheel, “HAN” (Hot August Nights) on the front and back license plates, and the hood opens. Arthur S. LeVesque’s signature is written in silver pen on the front. This is a fantastic addition to your collection!
